The RailPlan simulator supports full train performance simulations for all variation of consist, load, traction performance and signalling/control applications encountered within the world's Railways. Recent enhancements include moving block and distance separation with dynamic presentation. Power Plan enables calculation of energy usage in many formats and provides for the optimum placement of transformer and feeder requirements aiding electrification assessment and development. The value of these simulation tools with their high degree of accuracy may be considered as essential in resolving capacity management issues
Funkwerk also supply a comprehensive suite of programs covering Train Planning, Resource Planning and Management together. They also include a set of analytical tools which are unique and aid in determining the robustness of the planned rail service or operation. These are offered in modular format as optional add-ons to the core TrainPlan timetabling system. These programs have been extensively used upon the British Rail network and for the basic scheduling and timetable generation on many overseas rail systems, examples being Norway. Sweden, Romania, Amtrak and New Jersey Transit USA all of which are available as reference sites.
