ART contingent surveys South American rail routes

Senior ART representatives recently carried out an extensive programme of site visits and surveys encompassing parts of Argentina, Brazil and Chile, including meetings with senior rail managers. in order to identify opportunities for rail development. ART strongly believes in taking a pro-active approach to encourage investment in the rail industry, which is seen as essential to support economic growth in the region.

ART wins important Brazil assignment

ART today announced the signing of a contract with a leading Brazilian mining company to carry out an extensive review of the signalling and traffic management arrangements on its pit-to-port system. The work includes extensive simulation of the future traffic requirements of the railway; condition and functionality assessment of the existing traffic management and control systems; definition of technology requirements for the railway; and the development of a specification for the procurement of future traffic management and train control systems.

Said ART Chairman Tom Greaves: "This contract, which was won against strong international competition, represents a significant step forward for ART, and firmly establishes us as a player in the world markets in the field of leading-edge railway technology and simulation. In particular, it consolidates our position in South America, where we already have a number of railway initiatives under development."

ART has extensive international experience, especially in the area of heavy haul pit-to-port railway systems.

ART fact-finding tour of Chile

ART representatives have recently returned from a tour of Chile, where they were able to see rail operations at first-hand, and as a result have identified a number of opportunities where the implemention of modern railway technology can improve capacity and efficiency. Discussions with various Chilean rail authorities are continuing.

ART Directors at the International Heavy Haul Conference - 2005

Three of the ART Directors and a number of the Associates attended the International Heavy Haul Conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Visitors to the stand showed great interest in ART's own MTCS system and the advantages of the Modular Mining SmarTrain train control, management and operations system.

By the end of the Conference ART had established links with a number of key players in the world market, which will enable ART to develop its international business.

ART signs Sales Representation deal with Modular Mining

ART have signed a sales representation agreement with Modular Mining Systems Inc. of Tucson AZ USA to market their SmarTrain train operations system on a world-wide basis.

ART signs Sales Representation deal with Modular Mining The deal brings together ART's knowledge of the world-wide rail market and Modular's technical expertise in developing a state of the art train operations system.

The agreement adds to ART's growing portfolio of products that it is marketing into the rail industry from companies who lack market knowledge and wish to realise the full potential of their products
