The ART Universal Train Control Concept
ART believes that train control systems can be generically characterised by a number of key activities which need to be carried out, as shown diagrammatically below.
Each railway administration has its own preferred method of carrying out each of the activities; and the extent to which each activity is carried out manually or automatically also varies from railway to railway.
ART can analyse the specific requirements of a particular railway, including considerations of capacity, speed and performance, and can recommend and provide the most appropriate and cost-effective technology for the circumstances. ART is not tied exclusively to any one proprietary manufacturer.
ART understands that different railway administrations each have their own requirements and priorities, whether it be new construction on a greenfield site, capacity improvement and upgrades to existing lines, or replacement of life-expired systems.
